Using cotton or silk thread, the fabric is hand woven on wooden looms into 6 by 72 inch strips and then stitched together into 6 or 12 yards of Kente fabric.  Taking, a weaver 2 weeks to create 12 yards of fabric, this tightly woven fabric can be worn comfortable in 30 – 40 degree weather.
